Is the service free?
Yes, DroidWatch is currently completely free: registration, the app and watching the live stream in the browser cost nothing. Paid features will appear later — for example, cloud recording. We will announce this in advance and keep a free basic plan.
Will a very old smartphone work? Do I need Android 5 or 6?
Right now the app works on Android 6 and newer. Support for Android 5 is already in development and coming soon — old smartphones will be able to serve as security cameras for even longer.
Do I need a permanent internet connection? Will it work at the dacha over 4G?
Yes, you need a stable internet connection — Wi-Fi or mobile data (4G/3G). It works at the dacha over 4G as long as the signal is steady. Video quality follows your connection: the better the signal, the smoother the video.
Where are the recordings stored?
Recordings from the motion detector are saved directly on the smartphone itself — to internal storage. We do not store your recordings on our servers. Cloud recording will come later as a paid option.
Can I watch the stream from several devices?
Yes. You can connect several smartphones to one account and monitor different locations — apartment, dacha, garage. Everything is managed from a single dashboard in the browser.
